About Us

An Evidence-Informed Program

The Elks are committed to eliminating the use and abuse of illegal drugs by all members of society and believe that in order to ensure a bright future for our country, it is essential that our children be raised in a drug-free environment.

As the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States, the Elks Drug Awareness Program strives to teach children and parents about the dangers of illegal drug use and prevent the abuse of legalized and prescription drugs.

By taking pride in America’s communities and youth, the program takes action against youth drug use through education and inspiration.

The Elks partnership with the Drug Enforcement Agency, Office of National Drug Control Policy, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ensures that we are addressing the leading drug abuse issues facing communities today.

There are real, long-lasting, and devastating outcomes for our children who abuse drugs and for their families, friends, and communities. And for some, the outcome may be lethal.

Protecting our children from harmful drugs is a shared responsibility that requires effective community-based prevention programs that educate the community though awareness, acknowledgement, and action.
